29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about October 16, 2023, employees engaged in framing work are not protected from fall hazards while working at an elevation of approximately three stories above the ground. North Shore Framing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1656841, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1708 Oak Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. North Shore Framing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1613708, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on December 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 2140 N Rockwell St., Chicago, IL 60647. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
