29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees were not protected by protective helmets while working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by hazards while working below framing activities. This was most recently documented at a construction site on July 18, 2023 at 242 Ciderbluff in Goddard, Sedgwick County, Kansas, when employee(s) engaged in ground activities were not utilizing head protection while employee(s) working from the top of the partially framed roof above were throwing debris and wood waste to the ground. Marcelo Contreras-Villa was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1574721, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 6-1-2023, with respect to a workplace located at 8588 Chris St., Bel Aire, Sedgwick County, KS.
