29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees did not use eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: The employer does not ensure eye and face protection equipment is used when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. This violation was discovered on or about January 9, 2023; north of building, where employees were hammering nails to build a form box without eye protection and were exposed to struck-by hazards. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the requirement, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure eye and face protection equipment is used when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. Paramount Builders, Ltd. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1339142, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/26/2018, with respect to a workplace located at Manumalo Academy in American Samoa.
