Text For Citation: 03 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent fire hazards as demonstrated on or about April 29, 2022, on the sales floor, a portable fire extinguisher was blocked. The portable fire extinguisher near the office was not identified. In the back storage room near the electrical panels, a portable fire extinguisher was blocked, was not mounted, and was not identified. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that the portable fire extinguishers are not blocked, are mounted and are identified. Dolgencorp, LLC was previously cited for a repeat-other violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1263006, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 02/16/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 19055 US Highway 31, Vinemont, AL.
