29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) The employer does not ensure that the portable fire extinguisher is readily accessible without subjecting the employees to possible injury. This most recently occurred on and preceding February 10, 2022, at 2052 Lockbourne Road, Columbus, OH 43207. Wheeled carts, large boxes, bins, and stacked merchandise were in front of the fire extinguisher and preventing access, which exposed employees to fire hazards. Family Dollar Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1398022, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on June 5, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 1274 Westchester Avenue, BRONX, NY 10459. Family Dollar Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1560200, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 2, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 929 Easton Road, ABINGTON, PA 19001.
