29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). Water main construction located at the corner of Powder Springs Dallas Road & Angham Road, Powder Springs, GA, trench: On or about 10/20/2020, the employer exposed an employee to cave-in/engulfment hazards while working inside a trench measuring 6-feet, 4-inches deep, in that a cave-in protection system was not provided to an employee engaged in water pipe installation activities.
