29 CFR 1910.134(d)(3)(i): The employer did not provide a respirator that was adequate to protect the health of the employee under routine and reasonably foreseeable emergency situations: The employer is failing to prevent employee exposure to respiratory hazards during transfer of acetic acid into an approximate 350 gal. tank. The employer failed to provide employees with the appropriate acid gas cartridge (GVP-442 or GVP 443) for the 3M GVP powered air purifying respirator (PAPR). The employer provided employees with a cartridge that was appropriate for organic vapors (GVP-441). Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
