29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a. Roof Tower - On or about October 23, 2018 an employee that was assisting the welders did not have fall protection to prevent him from falling 35.4 feet from the edge a roof tower that was under construction. The Pearl Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1020626, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on April 8, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 2510 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232.
