29 CFR 1926.95(d)(1): Except as provided by paragraphs (d)(2) through (d)(6) of this section, the protective equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), used to comply with this part, was not provided by the employer at no cost to employee(s). The employer is not providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to employees at not cost, when such equipment is necessary to protect employees from job-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. The employer is deducting money from employees paychecks on a monthly basis until the total coast of issued personal protective equipment is paid in full. Once fully paid the personal protective equipment belongs to the employee and they are responsible for its care and maintenance. The issue personal protective equipment often come to employees as a kit and the employees bare the cost of the equipment until paid in full at $315.00.
