29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmet. The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by hazards associated with trenching and excavations. This was most recently documented on or about January 30, 2018 at a jobsite located at or near 16 Hawk Ridge Circle, Lake Saint Louis, MO 63367. The employer did not ensure protective helmets were worn by employees exposed to struck-by hazards from falling objects. Karrenbrock Excavating, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1128746, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 03/17/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 7166 Highway N, OFallon, MO, 63367. Karrenbrock Excavating, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 896722, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 06/28/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 1201 S. Fifth St., St. Charles, MO, 63301.
