29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. The employer does not have each affected employee use appropriate eye and face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from liquid chemicals. This violation was most recently observed on or about October 18, 2017 at a worksite at 19 Bailey Street, Plains Township, PA where employees used liquid chemicals such as but not limited to Klean Strip Denatured Alcohol and Klean Strip Acetone on a daily basis to perform activities including cleaning metal plates and rollers on the printing and die-cutting machines between job runs as well as on one prior occasion, as described below. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that each employee who uses liquid chemicals use appropriate eye and face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from liquid chemicals. Midvale Paper Box Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1066769, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on June 17, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 19 Bailey Street, Plains Township, PA.
