29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function. a). Paint Shack / Shop Area - On or about and times prior to November 2, 2016, employees required to wear respirators (e.g. 3M Half Mask Respirators) had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the mask and their face, thus exposing employees to a respiratory hazard.
