29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5)(ii): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the appropriate hazard warnings or alternatively words pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the Hazard Communication program, will provide employees with specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical [HCS 1994]: Or in the alternative: 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace is labeled, tagged or marked with the Product identifier, words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals [HCS 2012]: a) Stock Table Shop: Temporary agency employees were directed by the employer to remove imperfections and other scratch marks from benches. The employees were dispensing from a 1-gallon container of lacquer thinner, that included, but not limited to toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, acetone, and methyl ethyl ketone. The container did not identify appropriate hazard warnings for the chemical, Finish 1 Economy Thinner, on or about 2/5/15. b) Wood Shop: A container of lacquer thinner did not identity appropriate hazard warnings, on or about 2/5/15. STERLING SEATING, INC, was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5)(ii), which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 314674474, Citation Number 1, Item Number 14C, and was affirmed as a final order on January 20, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at North Arlington, New Jersey.
