29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv): Unless specifically permitted otherwise in paragraph (g)(1)(ii) of this section, flexible cords and cables may not be used: (A): As a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: On or about 14 February 2018, throughout the production area, employees were exposed to burns from fire hazards where 120 Volt-rated flexible cords were misused as a substitute for fixed wiring at the following machines: a. Parts washer. b. National bolt Maker #19. Light switch type on/off switches were wired with flexible cords. c. National bolt Maker #17 for conveyor. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
