29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(7)(iv): The employer did not provide to all employees who perform housekeeping work in areas where ACM and/or PACM is present, an asbestos awareness training course covering the health effects of asbestos; and/or locations of ACM and/or recognition of ACM and PACM damage and deterioration and/or requirements in this standard related to housekeeping, and/or proper response to fiber release episodes: (a) Throughout the facility: A January 11, 2011 annual asbestos awareness course provided by the employer was not attended by all housekeeping staff. A supplemental DVD program offered was not specific to the facility in that employees were not instructed as to the location of ACM within their respective work areas. Housekeeping employees were not specifically aware of the locations of ACM within their assigned work areas. THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED WITHIN OSHA REGION V FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 314965054, CITATION NUMBER 01, ITEM NUMBER 10A, ISSUED ON 05/17/2011, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 3001 GREEN BAY ROAD IN NORTH CHICAGO, IL.
