29 CFR 1910.179(j)(2)(iii): Monthly inspections of hooks, with a certification record which includes the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection and the serial number, or other identifier of the hook inspected, were not performed: a. On or about 12/12/2019, at the fabrication area, employees were exposed to a struck by hazard, in that, the crane hoists used to handle material were not inspected frequently as required. Frequent inspections to include daily and monthly inspections of the cranes and lifting apparatus were not conducted to include the lifting hooks and assure the hook safety latches were operational.
