29 CFR 1910.307(c): Electrical equipment in a hazardous (classified) location was not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location: a) Spice Chain Corporation/East Brunswick, NJ - Throughout the Facility: On or about October 24, 2019 the employer did not ensure that electrical installations including, but not limited to, Industrial Grade (outlet receptacles) used for plugging in extension cords, pedestal fans, and balances, were not intrinsically safe, explosion proof, approved for Class II, Division 2 locations. Dusts present in the area were classified as Class II with explosion severities ranging from 1.37 to 2.24 and Kst values ranging from 15.73 to 24.18; Exposing employees to explosion and fire hazards in the following areas: a) Milling Area b) Large Dust Collector Area: WRITTEN ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
