29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rest(s) on grinding machinery were not adjusted clos ely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one eighth inch: The employer does no t ensure employees are protected from an inadequately guarded grinder. A Baldor 3HP pedestal grinder, serial no. 375, had a work rest that was one inch from the abrasive wheel. The grinder waOOOOOOOOVs used to remove rough edges from cut me tal and angle iron. This violation was observed on or about September 20, 2010 on the east wall of the maintenance shop. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit do cumentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including the st eps that it is taking to ensure that employees are not being exposed to struck-b y hazards.
