29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): The employer does not provide training to authorized employee(s) in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control: Recent examples of the employer's violative conduct occurred on these occasions: a) 9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ, 08110- Foundry: Employees who cleaned the casting pits and areas under the furnaces did not receive lockout/tagout training, on or about 1/24/2017. b) 9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ, 08110- Extrusion: Employees that performed checks on chains, rollers, conveyors; pad replacement, and retrieved metal from the hot saw puller and stretcher areas on the cooling table did not receive lockout/tagout training, on or about 1/24/2017. c) 9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ, 08110- Extrusion: employees who assisted maintenance employees perform operations including, but not limited to, moving tables for maintenance when belts are being repaired did not receive lockout/tagout training on or about 1/31/2017. To abate this violation, the employer must establish a system to ensure that employees are provided training as required by 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7) prior to conducting servicing and maintenance activities which fall under the requirements of the lockout/tagout standard. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, AND PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, INCLUDING THE STEPS IT IS TAKING TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THIS STANDARD; ENSURING EMPLOYEES ARE TRAINED IN LOCKOUT/TAGOUT PROCEDURES PRIOR TO CONDUCTING WORK WHICH REQUIRES THE USE OF LOCKS AND TAGS, A COPY OF THE TRAINING PROVIDED TO EMPLOYEES, THE DATES THE TRAINING WAS PROVIDED, THE NAME OF THE PERSON(S) WHO PROVIDED THE TRAINING, A COPY OF THE LIST OF ALL THE EMPLOYEES WHO ATTENDED THE TRAINING AND ANY ENFORCEMNET PLAN OR RETRAINING PLANS FOR EMPLOYEES WHO VIOLATE THE PROGRAM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
