Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.219(c)(3): Vertical or inclined shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform was not enclosed with stationary casing(s): (a) 603 New Park Ave - Water Treatment: On or about August 28, 2013 the employer failed to guard a vertical rotating shaft on the JWI Mixer, Model JL-JLR which was affixed to a 200 sodium hydroxide tank. The rotating shaft was located where employees add water to the tank. The Har-Conn Chrome Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 311770242 Citation Number 1, Item Number 13a and was affirmed as final order on May 25, 2010, with respect to a workplace located in West Hartford, Connecticut.
