29 CFR 1910.253(b)(2)(ii): Cylinders were not stored in areas to ensure that the cylinders would not be knocked over: On or about May 15, 2023, four compressed gas cylinders were not in the storage space designated by the employer. The cylinders were left unsecured in areas where they could be knocked over or damaged exposing employees to struck-by hazards. a) At the entrance to the leading to Department #3 (Can Machine Area), three Acetylene cylinder tanks were stored within 6 to 12 inches from the entry way and were not secured. b) Department# 3 Impact Extrusion Area, an Acetylene cylinder tank with valved removed was stored within 1-inch of the staircase (the hose laying on the staircase) was not secured. The staircase was utilized by employees to access G250, Schuler 250-ton impact extrusion machine.
