29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. Location: 123 South 20th St. Irvington, NJ 07111 - Pad Lines/Dust Room/Shredding Line a) Employees exposed to amputation and struck by hazards while conducting fabric recycling operations approximately 1 foot away from a Fiber Control Snow Maker machine which vacuumed up linen and cardboard materials with no guarding mechanisms for a rotating fabric drawing arm that contained drawing blades on or about 12/22/21. b) Employees exposed to struck by hazards while conducting fabric recycling operations approximately 1 foot away from two Fabric Shredding Machines with no guarding mechanisms for the exposed rotating spindles on or about 12/22/21.
