29 CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(i): The safety monitor was not competent to recognize fall hazards. The employer failed to ensure the safety monitor was competent to recognize fall hazards at the job site. The condition was most recently observed on or about 11/08/2021 at a commercial building located at 801 Assembly Parkway in Fenton, MO. Geissler Roofing Company, Inc. did not ensure the safety monitor was competent to adequately identify fall hazards while working on a low-sloped roof. The employees were installing roofing materials on the roof, which was approximately 42 feet above the ground, without the proper use of fall protection including a warning line system and personal fall arrest system or a warning line system and safety monitoring system.
