Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.216(b)(1)(i): Pressure-sensitive body bars installed at front and back of each mill did not operate readily by the pressure of the mill operator's body: a) 4 Mill-#3 - On or about November 26, 2018 and at times prior to, the employer did not ensure that the body bar safety device installed was operational. Employees were exposed to caught-in hazards while performing tasks including but not limited to grabbing, feeding, and removing rubber and cutting samples, which required them to reach into the danger area. Kumho Tire Georgia, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.216(b)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1196140, citation 1, item 9 issued June 6, 2017 and was affirmed as a final order on June 30, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 3051 Kumho Parkway, Macon GA 31216.
