29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more are not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): a) The employer does not ensure that employees are protected from electrical hazards in that a 240v converter box located inside the back building storage room was in place uncovered. This violation reportedly occurred on October 4, 2016, when the H&A Saws, Inc. manufactured swing cutoff saw was in operation. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that the converter box is equipped with a cover. b) The employer does not ensure employees are protected from electrical hazards in that internal electrical wires are pulled out from the 115/208-230v Baldor Industrial Motor and unprotected from contact. This violation reportedly occurred on October 4, 2016, when the H & A Saws, Inc. manufactured swing cutoff saw was in operation. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure exposed wires are protected from contact and abrasion. A & D Wood Products, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.303(g)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 108854, citation number 1, item number 5a and was affirmed as a final order on May 3, 2012 with respect to a workplace located at 112 Ward Street Elida, Ohio 45807. A & D Wood Products, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.303(g)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 993582, citation number 3, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 9, 2016 with respect to a workplace located at 112 Ward Street Elida, Ohio 45807.
