29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where (a) portable ladder(s) was/were used for access to an upper level landing surface and the ladder's length did not allow the ladder side rails to extend at least 3 feet (0.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed, the ladder was not secured at its top to a rigid support that will not deflect, and/or a grasping device was not provided to assist employees in mounting and dismounting the ladder: a. On the 2nd floor, a single 8 foot section of a portable extension ladder was used to access the top of an 8-1/2 foot concrete wall and roof trusses without being secured in place, exposing employees to an 8-1/2 foot fall hazard, on or about 8/26/15. Fuerza Pilar Corporation Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 991644, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 2/24/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 7035 Peregrina Loop, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543.
