29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Employers did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use: On or about March 15, 2017, at the pool pump room area, safety data sheets were not available, including but not limited to the use of corrosive products when employees conducted pool water treatment operation: a. Employees pour Smart muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) in the pool pit. b. Employees add Pool Fresh chlorinating 3 inch tablets (trichloro-s-triazinetrione) inside the pool skimmers. c. Employees add Leslie's granulating powder (calcium hypochlorite) in the pool pit. NOTE 1: Sugar Bay Resort & Spa was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 570741, Citation Number 1, Item Number 3(b), and was affirmed as a final order on 09/16/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 6500 Estate Smith Bay, St. Thomas, VI 00802. NOTE 2: Sugar Bay Resort & Spa was previously cited for a Failure to Abate (FTA) violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 570741, Citation Number 1, Item Number 3(a), and was affirmed as a final order on 09/16/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 6500 Estate Smith Bay, St. Thomas, VI 00802. NOTE 3: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
