29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields: On or about December 12, 2024, and at times prior thereto, employee(s) performed Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding on aluminum. Other persons who passed by the work area or adjacent to the area were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields. In the following locations: a) Bldg. 1405, one screen was placed but did not provide protection from foot traffic traveling from the south to the north end of the building. b) Bldg. 1396, none were placed in the workplace. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to UV radiation hazards.
