29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(16): Portable ladders with structural defects, such as, but not limited to, broken or missing rungs, cleats, or steps, broken or split rails, corroded components, or other faulty or defective components, were not either immediately marked in a manner that readily identifies them as defective, or tagged with "Do Not Use" or similar language, and were not withdrawn from service until repaired: a- 135 Garden Hills, Lakewood NJ: An employee was exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 24 feet to the ground surface below, when accessing and egressing the pitched roof of a residential structure using a portable aluminum extension ladder containing visibly bent rungs. Condition observed on or about 01/30/19. Navy Contractors, Inc. was previously cited for a Serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(16), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1313502, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/04/18, with respect to a workplace located at 114 Quarterhorse Court, Marlton NJ. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
