Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by hot surfaces, point of operation and moving/rotating parts: On or about November 26, 2018: a) Fabric Calender Machine- employees operating the machine where exposed to caught in between when the machine shifted from side to side and employees used a step ladder to reach inside the machine. b) TSR # 2 - employees operating equipment where exposed to ingoing nip points when a side panel was open during operation to observe inside the machine. Exposing employees to moving parts inside the machine and to caught in between hazards. Kumho Tire Georgia, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1196140, citation 1, item 7a issued June 6, 2017 and was affirmed as a final order on June 30, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 3051 Kumho Parkway, Macon GA 31216.
