29 CFR 1910.178(o)(5): A load engaging means was not placed under the load as far as possible. On or about 11-09-2015 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Postal Service Sandston Distribution Center, 5801 Technology Blvd. Sandston, VA 23150, Condition: Employees operating Toyota Walkie-Rider Powered Pallet Jacks towed wheeled carts by "catching" the frames of the carts with the ends of the forks towing the carts to their final destinations. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.178(o)(5), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1061546.015, citation number 1, item number 1B and was affirmed as a final order on 08-21-15, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service Des Moines. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
