29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. On or about February 10, 2015, at the Building #1 - Metal fabrication department, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a drill press (i.e. Delta, Serial # 08G70503) without point of operation guarding. b. On or about January 13, 2015, at the Building #2 - Woodworking department, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a table saw (i.e. Delta Rockwell, no serial number available) without point of operation guarding. c. On or about January 13, 2015, at the Building #2 - Woodworking department, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a drill press (i.e. Delta, Serial Number 027106W5083) without point of operation guarding. d. On or about January 13, 2015, at the Building #1 - Metal fabrication department, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a sander (i.e. Enco, Model number 163-6089, Serial number 409009) that lacked a guard on in-going nip points between the sanding belt and cylinders. e. On or about January 13, 2015, at the Building #1 - Metal fabrication department of above addressed jobsite, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a band saw (i.e. Delta, Serial Number 06F14176) that lacked a guard on the unused portion of the blade. Contender Boats Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 31426506, citation number 1, item number 11 and was affirmed as a final order on December 16, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 1820 SE 38 Avenue, Homestead, FL 33035.
