29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee(s) was exposed to Silica in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average limits listed in Table Z-3: a) In the Blasting Building, where an employee was helping to perform abrasive blasting was exposed to Silica at levels greater than 3 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) during an 8-hour period. The calculated permissible exposure limit (PEL) was less than 3 mg/m3. The employee was sampled for 324 minutes during the work shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled 156 minutes. The calculated permissible exposure limit (PEL) 2.174 mg/m3. Outdoor Furniture Refinishing, Inc. doing business as Allied Powder Coating was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.1000(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 950210, citation number 1, item number 2b, and was affirmed as a final order on June 24, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 6011 St. Augustine, Houston, TX 77021.
