29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures shall be developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees are engaged in the activities covered by this section: Written procedures were not utilized for the control of hazardous energies when employees were engaged in activities such as but not limited to the following: a. On or about 05/27/2015, lockout procedures were not utilized by employees when removing and replacing the internal guide (both straight and/or concaved) on the front and back side of the Bronx (bar) straightener. Employees performing this task were not protected from unexpected start-up of hazardous energy sources such as; but not limited to, electric and hydraulic. b. On or before 05/28/2015, lockout procedures were not utilized by employees when removing and replacing the internal guide (both straight and/or concaved) on the front and back side of the Sutton (bar) straightener. Employees performing this task were not protected from unexpected start-up of hazardous energy sources such as; but not limited to, electric and hydraulic. The TimkenSteel Corporation (formerly known as: The Timken Company) was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR. 1910. 147(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 971450, citation number 01, item number 04 and was affirmed as a final order on August 07,2014 with respect to a workplace located at 4511 Faircrest Ave., SW, Canton, OH 44706.
