29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) Second Floor, New Addition - Employees were observed standing at the edge of an open deck while dropping demolition debris to the ground, and exposed to a 15 foot, 7 inch fall hazard, on or about 10/18/2013. b) Second Floor, Existing Section - A carpenter was observed cutting a 2X4 near a floor hole that measured 40 inches wide, 14 feet, 4 inches in length that was used as a ladder opening and exposed to a 10 feet, 3 inch fall hazard, on or about 10/18/2013. AJP Builders, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 921047, citation number 1, item number 3, and was affirmed as a final order on 09/10/13, with respect to a workplace located at 3812 25th Place, NE Washington DC 20018. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
