29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: a) Employees who work with chemical solvents, grinders, air guns and other shop equipment are exposed to flying particles, debris, and chemicals because they are not required to use eye protection. Springs Transmissions & Automotive, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1) or its equivalent which was contained in OSHA inspection 29573, Citation 1, Item 2, issued June 16, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 3310 Chelton Loop North, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. This citation became final on February 29, 2012. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
