Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards while working in unprotected elevated locations: In the following instances wall openings were not guarded or protected: a)Brooder Barn 3 - The 2nd floor doors on the west side were open. b)Brooder Barn 3 - The 3rd floor doors on the west side were open. c)Brooder Barn 4 - The 2nd floor doors on the east side were open. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install a removable guard rail system. Your company was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 122375512, Citation Number 1, item number 2, issued on 07/12/96.
