29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about July 15, 2024, employees using portable ladders to access the roof were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 8 feet and the employer did not ensure the ladders' side rails extended at least three feet above the roof's edge: a) Employees used a blue extension ladder to access the home's front roof area and the ladder's side rails did not extend three feet above the landing surface. b) Employees used a telescoping portable ladder to access the home's front roof area and the ladder's side rails did not extend three feet above the landing surface. THE ZACH CARTER DBA CORRECT MEASURE CONSTRUCTION WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 1926.1053(b)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1626604, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 2 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON JANUARY 27, 2023, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 7821 W PLANK RD, PEORIA, IL 61603.
