Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(7)(iv): The employer did not train employees who performed housekeeping operations in areas containing presumed asbestos-containing material (PACM) and/or other asbestos-containing material (ACM) at least once a year: a) 201 Ferry Street, Easton PA Facility - On or about April 23, 2024, and at times prior, employees performed housekeeping operations in areas containing asbestos and the employer did not provide training on asbestos in accordance with this section. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.1001 (j)(7)(iv), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1629204, citation number 2, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on February 19, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 317 S. 7th St., Klamath Falls, OR. The U. S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(7)(iv), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1537592, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on September 14, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 3775 Industrial Blvd, West Sacramento, CA Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photograph or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
