29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(8)(v): When performing any other Class II removal of asbestos-containing material for which specific controls have not been listed in paragraphs (g)(8)(iv)(A) through (D) of this section, the employer shall ensure that the following work practices are complied with. At a worksite located at 12650 Manchester Ave, Grandview, MO 64030: The employer is failing to protect employees from the health hazards associated with asbestos. This was demonstrated on or about June 3, 2022, and at times prior to when the employer did not ensure that the following work practices were complied with while employees demolished Class II asbestos-containing materials. a) The material being demolished was not thoroughly wetted with amended water prior to and during its removal. b) The material being removed was done in an intact state as it was being demolished. c) There was no prohibition of cutting, abrading, or breaking the demolished materials being removed. d) The asbestos-containing material being removed was not immediately bagged, wrapped, or kept wetted until transferred to a closed receptacle. The employer Troy Murdock was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(8)(v)(B), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1357388, citation number 1, item number(s) 5a to 5c, 6 and was affirmed as a final order on June 1, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 137 Hale Liberty, Manhattan, KS 66506.
