Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.651(j)(1): Adequate protection was not provided to protect employees from loose rock or soil that could pose a hazard by falling or rolling from an excavation face. Location: Worksite Employees are exposed to struck-by hazards while working in excavations where the employer does not provide adequate protection from loose rock or soil that could pose a hazard by falling or rolling from an excavation face. The employer routinely fails to provide protection for employees engaged in excavation work as demonstrated on August 13, 2021, at the 18 Crestway Road worksite where employees were exposed to excavation hazard injuries.
