29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Employees were not protected from excavated or other materials or equipment that could pose a hazard by falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary. The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by and engulfment hazards associated with trenching. This was most recently documented on or about 05/29/2019, at jobsite located at 2600 block of NE 46th St, KC MO. The employer did not protect employees from struck-by and engulfment hazards by placing or keeping excavated or other materials at least 2 feet from the edge of the excavation. Blue Nile Contractors was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1341476, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/06/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 202 Winn Rd, KC MO.
