Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(c)(3)(iii)(A): Vehicles or mechanical equipment capable of having parts of their structures elevated near energized overhead lines were not operated so that a clearance of 10 feet (305 cm) was maintained: a) On or about 5/21/19 at a tree removal project located at 2607 Ridge Road, Mount Morris, New York; employees were using a crane while removing a tree and placing the logs roadside. The employer did not ensure the crane hoist cable maintained a clearance of at least 10 feet away from the energized overhead line. The hoist cable made contact with the energized line electrocuting an employee handling rigging attached to the hoist cable. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
