29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part. a. Located at 7344 Yarrow Run Road, Plain City, Ohio: On or about April 24, 2019, the employer did not ensure that two employees who worked off the pump jack scaffold, were protected from falling to the ground level. The employees were greater than 10 feet above the ground level. The employees installed siding off the scaffold onto a new build residential home, and were exposed to a fall distance of approximately 20 feet. Kevin Ramos was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1359157, citation number 1, item number 4A and was affirmed as a final order on January 22, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at Lot 169095, Balmoral Drive, Delaware, OH 43015.
