29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees: On or about November 26, 2018 throughout the facility, the employer failed to train employees in the control of hazardous energy. Employees such as but not limited to operators, quality inspectors, and maintenance employees who were responsible for tasks including but not limited to cleaning, servicing, preventative maintenance, quality control, replacing molds, and clearing jams on various machinery including but not limited to the curing presses, TUG line, Tire Calibrator, and APU II lines were exposed to hazards associated with the release of hazardous energy or unexpected startup of equipment and machinery. Kumho Tire Georgia, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.147(c)(7)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1196140, citation 1, item 4 issued June 6, 2017 and was affirmed as a final order on June 30, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 3051 Kumho Parkway, Macon GA 31216.
