Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.179(j)(2): The following items were not be inspected for defects at intervals as defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii) of this section or as specifically indicated, including observation during operation for any defects which might appear between regular inspections: a) Establishment- On or about September 20, 2017, employees were exposed to struck by hazards while operating the overhead cranes that have not been inspected monthly since 6/1/2012 for defects according to schedule and working in the area of suspended loads. The employer, Rothe Welding, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 190857, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/24/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 1455 Route 212, Saugerties, NY 12477.
