29 CFR 1910.255(e): Maintenance. Periodic inspection shall be made by qualified maintenance personnel, and a certification record maintained. The certification record shall include the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection and the serial number, or other identifier, for the equipment inspected. The operator shall be instructed to report any equipment defects to his supervisor and the use of the equipment shall be discontinued until safety repairs have been completed. [39 FR 23502, June 27, 1974, as amended at 40 FR 18426, Apr. 28, 1975; 55 FR 13710, Apr. 11, 1990] a. On or about April 20, 2017, periodic inspections were not performed or documented for the resistance welding equipment to identify defects and hazards. International Technical Coatings, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1910.255(e)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1069945 citation number 1, item number 17 and was affirmed as a final order on 01/06/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 845 E. Markison Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215.
