29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) Worksite - On or about April 14, 2017, an employee was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 13 feet when accessing a ladder jack scaffold platform using an aluminum extension ladder that extended approximately 1 foot above the landing surface of the ladder jack scaffold. b) Worksite - On or about April 14, 2017, an employee was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 14 feet when accessing a roof using an aluminum extension ladder that extended approximately 2 feet above the landing surface of the roof. c) Worksite - On or about April 14, 2017, an employee was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 14 feet when accessing a roof using an aluminum extension ladder that extended approximately 2 feet above the landing surface of the roof. Witz Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 647238, citation number 2, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 1/24/13, with respect to a workplace located at 401 Canada St, Lake George, NY 12845.
