29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c): The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by and engulfment hazards associated with trenching and excavation. This was most recently documented on or about January, 20, 2017 at the jobsite located at or near Lot 27 on North Baltimore Ave. in Kansas City, Missouri. The employer did not provide or require the use of benching, sloping, shoring or other means to ensure that employees working in excavations were protected from engulfment hazards.
