29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(ii): There is a defect or evidence of damage that could expose an employee to injury, and the defective or damaged item was not removed from service: Location: Pallet Repair Table 10 The violation was observed on November 28th, 2016, when an employee was exposed to electric shock and fire hazards while using defective equipment: a) The insulating jacket of a Dewalt portable angle grinder power cord was frayed and cracked b) The insulating jacket of a Milwaukee Sawzall power cord was frayed and cracked To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all defective or damaged items that poses a safety hazard is removed from service. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance.
